The Herefordshire Botanical Society is compiling a register of those wild plants of Herefordshire which are uncommon or threatened.
Epipactis purpurata is one of the plants that will be on the register.
Epipactis purpurata can be difficult to find in shady woodland and more than one visit is often needed to find it in flower. Members failed to find this species during a visit specifically arranged for that purpose. However it turned up unexpectedly at another meeting.
