Mistletoe Viscum album

Founded in 1951, the Herefordshire Botanical Society aims to help the conservation of plants and their habitats and to organise any activities which promote these aims.
A full programme of free meetings is arranged for members. Anyone considering membership is welcome to attend without obligation. The society has always had close links with botanists in Radnorshire and is keen to continue this tradition. A Radnorshire excursion is arranged every summer.
Winter Meetings are are a mix of outdoor meetings, and indoor meetings. The latter feature talks by invited speakers and membership participation. More experienced botanists are always willing to assist with identifications or general botanical information.
Summer Field Meetings are led by experienced botanists in and beyond the county. Beginners or expert botanists are equally welcome. By seeking to organise field meetings at reserves and private estates the Society endeavours to promote co-operation with a wide range of conservation interests.
Out and about with the HBS: a surprise find early in the year. Down amongst the sedges on Byton Moor. Taking advantage of a dry spot. Where will it be next time? Where to tread next?
